This library provides information to the community through its collections, programs, and classes. When the building was designed, it incorporated elements from two architecturally significant buildings in West Lafayette, the Frank Lloyd Wright home, SAMARA, and a Louis Sullivan designed building. Dr. Christian, owner of SAMARA, has chosen the library to permanently house his exhibit of artifacts from his home when it is not on display elsewhere.

Maintained by the Tippecanoe County Historical Association, the library consists of books, files, microfilm and CD-ROMS that focus on Tippecanoe County history. There is also a significant collection of materials on Native American and early trading in the area, including history on Fort Ouiatenon. The library is located across from the Moses Fowler House and the building also houses the photo archives and archive collection.
